A huge step up from Paint
Krita is both a raster and a vector graphics program presented in an easy way for digital artists to create. Before finding this software my go-to editor was Photoshop Elements. This editor is stuffed full of features including fading brush strokes, mirroring, unlimited layering, digital pen support, masking and algebraic geometry including vector primitives similar to Inkscape. The documentation is provided online so be aware you need to be connected to the internet when trying to learn the features of this software .Notable Features
- Excellent Color Selection Tools.
- Variety of Brushes for Raster based editing. Sometimes the texture of a single brush is enough to launch you into a composition. This tool shows versatility in your brush selection including digital pen support
- Smart Curves for easier flowing lines
- Tools for measuring your drawing. Getting proportion and angle correct are essential when creating a composition. Now you can use more than your eyes to guide you.
- Many File Formats to choose from including all of the standards expected for image editing software.
- Keyframe Animation. I will have to try this one out!
